About the position
This role sits within the Widening Participation and Outreach team in the Office of the Provost. The team leads programs and initiatives that help build post-school aspirations, lift student achievement, and provide academic pathway and enabling options for both school-aged and mature-aged learners. We’re also the main point of contact for academic outreach that connects secondary schools with the university community.
The Senior Coordinator reports to the Program Director, Senior School Support Programs (Albury-Wodonga). The role is responsible for delivering, coordinating, and presenting a series of workshops for Year 11–12 students. This includes supporting students from participating schools across Greater Mildura and surrounding areas through face-to-face and online delivery, managing relationships with school staff, developing engaging resources, completing monthly reports, and evaluating program content. The role also involves training university students to act as role models and mentors, overseeing workflows and budgets, and handling administrative tasks to ensure smooth program delivery.
This position is based at the Mildura campus and includes travel to participating schools across the Greater Mildura region.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have;
- A formal school or tertiary teaching qualification, e.g. B.Ed, M.Ed, or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
- Proven ability to develop, implement and refine innovative educational programs and activities that raise achievement and develop the academic skills necessary for success in senior school; as well as engagement activities that raise awareness of and inform higher education aspirations.
- High level interpersonal skills, especially the capacity to work collaboratively and cooperatively across partner schools and the University.
- Demonstrated experience in program/event management and development, and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Ability to establish rapport with students so they feel confident in expressing their goals, concerns and successes.
