About the Role: Are you an experienced professional in lease management looking for an exciting opportunity to make a real impact? La Trobe University is seeking a dynamic Leasing Portfolio Manager to lead the effective management of our extensive lease portfolio, which spans multiple campuses and standalone sites.
This role is central to ensuring the smooth administration and management of around 140 leases, covering a diverse range of asset classes, installations, and land. As a key member of our team, you will manage an external real estate management team and contribute to developing and implementing strategies for core retail services and key precincts. Your work will be vital in implementing lease contracts ensuring compliance with university policy, external legislationand aligning with our broader strategic objectives and campus master plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the management of lease operations across all campuses in compliance with university policies and industry best practices.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of property management, leasing processes and university strategies.
- Manage the real estate team to ensure timely collection of rent, effective management of lease contracts, and excellent property management standards.
- Oversee the negotiation of new leases, rental reviews, renewals, and variations as required.
- Prepare regular portfolio reports for senior management, aligning with strategic goals and budgets.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth lease management and contract negotiations.
Skills and Experience:
- Extensive management experience with relevant postgraduate qualifications, or equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to develop and implement innovative policies and practices.
- Experience in interpreting and managing diverse lease and license agreements.High level of attention to detail with willingness to create and follow process.
- Understanding of financial management procedures and the Retail Leases Act.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate, influence, and build relationships.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to a positive and inclusive culture.
