About the position
An Academic at Level A with a teaching-focused appointment will design curriculum, coordinate subjects, deliver instruction, and support students in their learning journey. They are also expected to engage in scholarly activities that contribute to the advancement of their discipline or professional field.
Additionally, a teaching-focused academic will contribute to the administrative operations of their discipline and pursue scholarly work that enhances learning and teaching within their field.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have
• Current understanding of theories, trends and education reform that address preparing teachers for regional and rural schools.
• Demonstrated ability to engage in research and implement curriculum and professional programs in the areas of teacher education.
• Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline, and evidence of participation in higher level study relevant to discipline or professional area.
• Current understanding of research and evidence-based approaches to inform teaching, learning and curriculum development in face-to-face, blended and/or online modes.
• Demonstrated effectiveness, and ability to innovate, in teaching, curriculum development and subject coordination, in face-to-face, blended and/or online modes, as evidenced by sustained high results on student feedback on teaching surveys, teaching excellence awards or through other forms of evidence.
