About the position
Under the supervision of Nexus lead researcher Dr. Meera Varadharajan, the candidate will collaborate with the Nexus team to conduct research and develop scholarly outputs.
The study aims to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of Nexus in preparing pre-service teachers for school teaching and explore ways to enhance the program for the benefit of pre-service teachers, schools, and the broader community.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have
• Holder of postgraduate degree (preferably PhD) in Education or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience conducting quantitative data analysis. This includes skills relating to:
- Importing and exporting data
-Producing numerical and graphical summaries
-Descriptive statistics and plots
-Hypothesis testing (t-tests, ANOVA & Chi-squared tests)
-Confidence intervals & p-values
-Simple linear regression
-Power & sample size considerations.
• Strong knowledge and experience working with statistical data analysis tools - SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences or R or other).
• Strong familiarity and understanding of online survey questionnaire tools (such as RedCap/QuestionPro/Qualtrics).
