Join La Trobe at an exciting point in its AI transformation. As Senior AI Platforms Engineer, you will work across key enterprise platforms including ChatGPT Edu, Microsoft Azure AI, Copilot and Cogniti, supporting the secure, reliable and scalable delivery of AI capabilities for staff and students.

This hands-on technical role offers the opportunity to configure platforms, build integrations, deploy AI agents and workflows, and contribute directly to the University’s AI delivery priorities.

About the position

Working within Information Services and allocated full-time to the AI Enablement Office, you will:

  • Support, configure and administer La Trobe’s enterprise AI platforms, including ChatGPT Edu, Microsoft Azure AI, Copilot and Cogniti.
  • Engineer and deploy AI agents, custom GPTs, Copilot agents, platform integrations and agentic workflows.
  • Manage platform access, provisioning, licences, controls, monitoring, documentation and operational support.
  • Collaborate with technical, governance, security, academic and business teams to deliver responsible AI capabilities securely and at scale.

You will contribute directly to AI delivery sprints while ensuring strong enterprise platform practices across security, access management, monitoring, documentation, governance and operational support.

Skills and experience

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience supporting, configuring, integrating or administering enterprise SaaS or cloud platforms, including API-based integrations and identity and access management.
  • Experience with, or strong aptitude for, generative AI platforms and services such as Azure AI, OpenAI services, Microsoft Copilot or other enterprise large language model platforms.
  • Experience working within agile or collaborative technology delivery environments, including change management, release coordination, monitoring and incident response.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.

Experience in technical architecture, automation, scripting, workflow orchestration, CI/CD practices, model deployment, agent frameworks or advanced AI platform monitoring will be highly regarded.
