About the position
The Australian Centre for Evidence Based Aged Care, part of the Australia Institute for Primary Care and Ageing within the School of Nursing and Midwifery, is a consortium member funded by the Australian Government to deliver Dementia Training Australia (DTA), the national dementia education program. DTA aims to build the capacity of the health and aged care workforce, as well as healthcare students, to provide high-quality care for people living with dementia.
This role is responsible for managing and overseeing the delivery of the GP Education Program. Working closely with a team of GP educators, Academic GPs, and a program coordinator, the position supports the development and implementation of DTA’s GP education activities in line with the organisation’s workplan and contractual requirements. The role also contributes to the continued growth of the program, including the anticipated expansion of educational initiatives for Primary Health Care Nurses.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have
- A degree with substantial extension of the theories and principles, learned through experience; or a range of management experience; or postgraduate qualifications, or progress towards postgraduate qualifications with extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
- Experience in the development and delivery of education to GPs and the Primary Health sector
- Understanding of the continuing professional education requirements for General Practitioners and Primary Health Nurses
- Familiarity with project management methodologies to design and develop an integrated program of online and face to face dementia education for General Practitioners and other dementia care professionals
