About the position
La Trobe University’s Advancement Office plays a critical role in building enduring relationships with alumni, donors and partners to advance the University’s mission of social impact, inclusivity and excellence.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Advancement Data and Systems, the Senior Coordinator, Advancement Data and Systems is a key specialist role supporting data strategy, segmentation and reporting across the La Trobe Advancement Office (LTA). Acting as a central point of contact for advancement data and reporting queries, the role applies strong analytical and technical expertise to deliver high‑quality insights that enable fundraising, alumni engagement and campaign activity.
Utilising La Trobe’s bespoke Blackbaud CRM and BBIS environment, along with tools such as Power BI and Business Objects, the role develops and maintains complex data sets, reporting solutions and segmentation that bring the LTA Strategy and campaign priorities to life. A core focus of the position is supporting and delivering the Short Course growth strategy, driving alumni recruitment and revenue generation through targeted data-led approaches.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Manage data delivery for the Short Course program, including segmentation, reporting and EDM support.
- Provide day‑to‑day administration of Blackbaud CRM and BBIS in support of campaign activity.
- Deliver regular and ad‑hoc reporting, including scorecards, fundraiser activity and principal gift reports.
- Produce fundraising appeal datasets and reports across the annual cycle.
- Maintain system integrity, anticipate data issues, and liaise with Blackbaud support as required.
- Manage Live Alumni data updates and accurate CRM imports.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have:
- Advanced user of Blackbaud CRM.
- Demonstrated ability in the use of Power BI, Business Objects and other data reporting tools.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of financial structures and procedures as they apply to philanthropy and fundraising.
- Basic ability in website/webpage building and development
