We are reducing the overall use of academic casual employment and providing meaningful pathways for casual academic staff to ongoing academic employment through our casual consolidation project.
To be eligible, you must (a) Have casual experience totalling at least two (2) teaching sessions at La Trobe University in the previous two (2) years; (b) Have not held a continuing position in a university in the previous three (3) years.
About the Role: Join La Trobe University’s Department of Community and Clinical Health as a Lecturer in Audiology. In this teaching-focussed role, you will contribute to the design and delivery of our postgraduate coursework program in Audiology, supporting the next generation of clinical professionals. You’ll be part of a dynamic, innovative team within a School renowned for research excellence, industry partnerships, and a commitment to student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and teach subjects, delivering high-quality learning experiences across lectures, tutorials, practical classes, workshops, and clinical sessions (in-person, online, or blended).
- Provide constructive, fair, and timely feedback to students.
- Contribute to curriculum design and review, embedding employability capabilities and innovative teaching practices.
- Lead and participate in teaching improvement projects.
- Engage in knowledge transfer and relationship-building at a local level.
- Undertake other duties as required by the Head of Department or School.
About You:
- Master’s degree in Clinical Audiology or equivalent.
- Eligible for membership of Audiology Australia.
- Experience in teaching and flexibility to teach a broad range of subjects.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Commitment to the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching.
