About the position
A newly created role to coordinate and manage academic staffing allocations for the School of Nursing and Midwifery teaching timetable. This includes overseeing rostering processes, ensuring compliance with relevant employment legislation, maintaining accurate records, monitoring budgets, and providing high-level advice on recruitment policies.
This role supports effective workforce planning through collaboration with academic leaders and ensures transparent, equitable, and responsive staffing practices.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Acts as a key advisor to Senior Leadership by providing data-driven insights and recommendations on program objectives, staffing trends, budget implications, and evolving university policies and legislation.
- Independently monitors, reviews and continuously improves local staffing procedures and processes within the functional area.
- Coordinating staffing allocations in collaboration with Academic Planners and the Discipline Leads, ensuring rostering allows for flexibility and responsiveness to changes.
- Support the development and implementation of innovative rostering practices, ensuring transparent and equitable allocation of teaching resources, including optimising the engagement and deployment of casual staff resources.
- Provide high level advice to staff on academic casual recruitment policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have:
- An undergraduate degree in any area relevant to the position with at least 4 years subsequent experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
- Demonstrated skills in research, evaluation or interpretation of data.
- Demonstrated ability to form a detailed knowledge of academic and administrative policies and the interrelationships between a range of policies and activities.
- Proficiency in computing, with demonstrated experience using a variety of applications to develop reports and present information (Power BI, SharePoint, Excel).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders to achieve stated outcomes.
Desirable:
- Experience using Power BI Dashboards including CAS
- Understanding of University Academic Workload Planning Guidelines and processes.
