About The Bouverie Centre

Healthy relationships in families, organisations and communities

The Bouverie Centre is a Practice-Research-Translation Centre within the School of Psychology and Public Health at La Trobe University, and a Statewide Specialist Mental Health Service within Victoria’s public mental health system. The Centre integrates clinical family therapy, service development, academic training, and a rapidly developing research program, with a vision of healthy relationships in families, organisations, and communities.


About the Role

The Senior Manager, Clinical Academic Integration is a senior leadership role responsible for strengthening Bouverie’s capacity for integration across program areas, bridging academic and clinical domains, and driving innovation in advanced clinical teaching and training. This new position will manage Bouverie’s contributions to academic partnerships, lead documentation of clinical models, consult on professional education offerings, and contribute to organisational strategy and external partnership building.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive and coordinate Bouverie’s role in clinical teaching, ensuring course initiatives benefit from Bouverie expertise and align with Centre needs.
  • Lead Bouverie’s contributions to academic communications and negotiations, and maintain an active role in advanced clinical supervision.
  • Inform the development of advanced clinical education offerings, enabling professional certification and micro-credentialling alignment.
  • Expand Bouverie’s profile through dissemination of clinical models, new consultation and training partnerships, and redevelopment of Clinical Practice Groups.
  • Provide leadership as a member of the Bouverie Executive Team, contributing to strategy, management, and partnership building.

Skills & Experience

  • Completion of a Masters in Clinical Family Therapy or equivalent, with AAFT or equivalent professional recognition.
  • At least 10 years’ experience as a clinical family therapist.
  • Contemporary knowledge of clinical family therapy theory, curriculum, and models of practice.
  • Substantial experience in higher degree teaching and academic course coordination.
  • Experience in advanced clinical consultation to multi-disciplinary mental health and allied services.
  • Proven leadership skills, including strategic planning, negotiation, and relationship building.
  • Experience in curriculum development, teaching, training, and professional development programmes.
  • Eligibility for clinical membership with the Australian Association for Family Therapists.
