About the position

The Admissions and Scholarships department is committed to the seamless implementation and execution of administrative processes that support both the University's admissions and coursework scholarships, including Government scholarship and bursary programmes. The Admissions team manages the entire admissions process for new students, from application submission to final offer, ensuring optimised service that aligns with the University's core strategic objectives. This includes handling domestic direct, online, partner, international, and TAC admission activities.

The responsibility of this position is the provision of confidential and high-level project support, governance and executive support and services to ensure the effective and efficient administration of the office of Director of Admissions and Scholarships.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Effective professional management of the office of the Admissions & Scholarships.
  • Effective coordination and monitoring of complaint review and outcomes and other risk and governance matters.
  • Project support for Director of Admissions and Scholarships with Enhanced Admissions 2.0 and other Admissions and Scholarship transformation work.
  • Welcoming of incoming visitors, mail/calls (as required) and actioning appropriately.
  • Effectively managing diary/schedule through a solid understanding of the business, relative priorities and appropriate delegation.
  • Proactive identification and follow-up of meeting actions.
  • Travel arrangements.
  • Processing monthly expenses via expensify.
  • Submitting positions via PageUp and maintaining up to date org chart.
  • Processing payment of invoices and raising invoices with Finance.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • Degree and/or subsequent administrative, project and executive support experience or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
  • Strong Organisational, time and workload management skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently coordinate and priorities tasks to meet competing deadlines.
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with people at different levels of seniority, internal and external to the University. Ability to retain professional and welcoming demeanor under pressure and in an environment prone to interruption.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential issues with discretion and professionalism.
