 About the position

La Trobe University’s Rural Health School, the largest in Australia, is seeking a Senior Research Fellow to lead impactful research at the intersection of rural health education and policy.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a researcher passionate about strengthening the rural health workforce and influencing policy reform through evidence-based advocacy.

About the Role

Working within the Office of the La Trobe Rural Health School, you will:

• Conduct high-quality research to support the development of rural health education
• Analyse data and policies to inform strategies aligned with the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training program expectations
• Lead or contribute to advocacy, evaluation, and policy submissions at local and national levels
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to influence rural health outcomes

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

• A PhD (or equivalent research experience) in rural health or a related discipline
• Demonstrated experience in health research, policy analysis, and advocacy
• Strong data analysis skills, particularly working with large datasets
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
• A commitment to supporting equitable rural health education
