About the position

Working within the central Placement Partnering and Operations (PPO) team and reporting to the Advisor leading the PlaceReady project, the Senior Project Officer will support the project team to provide strategic and operational guidance on student compliance for placements. This involves developing and implementing strategies, procedures that enhance student engagement and preparedness for industry placements and support the success of the Placement Partnering and Operations team and broader La Trobe University (LTU) community.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Enhance Student Information: Review and refine placement-related content to ensure clarity, alignment with LTU’s brand, and relevance to student needs and preferences.
  • Improve Digital Communication: Identify content gaps and develop engaging, accessible, and student-centered materials for web and digital platforms, incorporating visuals where appropriate.
  • Web Content Development: Design, test, and publish user-friendly web pages to effectively share information with students.
  • Email Communication: Audit and update student email templates to reflect best practices, using concise content and directing students to key web resources.
  • Promote Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure initiatives foster a culture of effective teamwork and recognition.
  • Student Engagement: Promote a student-centred approach with content development and pro-actively seek to embed student voice and feedback when researching and evaluating material and content development
  • Enhance Internal Communication: Work with PPO leaders to strengthen internal communication channels and promote the visibility of best practices within the team.
  • Data-Driven Evaluation: Use data and feedback to evaluate communication effectiveness, producing regular reports and driving continuous improvement across all channels.

 Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • Degree with subsequent relevant experience to consolidate the theories and principles learned, or extensive experience, leading to either the development of specialist expertise or to the development of broad knowledge in an administrative field, or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to write concise, accurate and engaging content.
  • Proven experience with web content management systems (CMS) (Squiz Matrix preferred), Electronic Direct Mail (EDM) systems (including Adobe Campaign and Campaign Monitor) and digital tools and software (such as Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Experience in producing content within brand guidelines including copywriting and communication development and management across a range of channels including web, social media and email.
