About the position
Working directly with the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience and Employability), this role leads the design, coordination and delivery of strategic programs across student experience, employability, student administration and integrity.
The position provides high-level planning, governance, reporting and strategic advice; coordinates complex cross-University initiatives; and strengthens the monitoring and evaluation of portfolio impact. It will support an integrated student lifecycle, continuous service improvement and the University’s ambitions for student satisfaction and AI-enabled transformation.
Duties at this level:
- Responsible for program development, planning and implementation, as prioritised by the PVC, to manage programs of work across the division, considering the implications now and in the longer term, to objectives.
- Provide strategic support and advice to the PVC for integration of a range of internal and external policies and demands, and an ability to achieve objectives operating within complex organisation structures.
- Lead work and projects requiring the planning, development and review of major professional, management or administrative policies at a senior management level.
- Work across the whole Student Experience and Employability division to ensure there is a comprehensive alignment between initiatives and the division’s strategic objectives.
Skills and knowledge:
- A degree, extensive management expertise and supporting experience, or postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
- Demonstrated ability to write quality and timely senior level reports, and provide analysis of data, across a range of domains including: external regulators, academic and management committees, key stakeholder groups and other substantial programs of work within the university.
- A growth mindset, with a demonstrated ability to adapt to evolving operating and strategic needs, with significant experience in technological advancements (including use of AI and other digital platforms) for student experience.
- Strong project management, time management, and multitasking abilities, with highly effective communication skills.
