  • Classification: Level A - Base salary from $84,205 + 17% superannuation

About the position

The Research Officer (Qualitative Research) will play a key role in project management, including the design, coordination and implementation of the qualitative components of the project which focus on school-based case studies and stakeholder co-design through Social Labs.

The position supports La Trobe University’s strategic priorities in education research, social justice, and community-engaged scholarship, and provides opportunities for research capacity building through collaboration with a national and international research team.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • A graduate degree in Education, or a doctoral degree.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to coordinate research activities across multiple sites, manage timelines, and support delivery of project milestones.
  • Evidence of experience in qualitative research and the ability to work effectively under limited supervision or independently.
  • A record of contribution to publications, conference papers and/or reports demonstrating research potential.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team in a cooperative and collegial manner.
  • Ability to contribute to collaborative academic writing and publication processes.
  • Travel across VIC, NSW and QLD as required.
