To be eligible, you must (a) Have casual experience totalling at least two (2) teaching sessions at La Trobe University in the previous two (2) years; (b) Have not held a continuing position in a university in the previous three (3) years.

About the position

The Discipline of Anatomy at La Trobe University delivers an extensive suite of anatomy subjects across a wide range of professional and non-accredited courses, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry, exercise and sport science, speech pathology, paramedicine, nursing and midwifery, and biomedicine. To support this breadth, the discipline requires an academic with strong foundational anatomical expertise, alongside applied clinical insight relevant to allied health practice.

Duties at this level will include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and deliver anatomy subjects across multiple allied health, sport and exercise science, nursing and midwifery, and biomedicine courses, ensuring high-quality and inclusive teaching in lectures, practicals, workshops, online and blended learning environments.
  • Lead and contribute to subject and course curriculum design, redevelopment, and review, incorporating contemporary evidence, digital learning innovations, and discipline-specific pedagogical approaches.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • A PhD or equivalent accreditation/standing recognised by the University and profession as appropriate to the discipline of Anatomy or a closely aligned field.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching and subject coordination across face-to-face, blended and/or online modes, evidenced by strong student feedback, peer review, teaching awards, or other credible indicators of teaching quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, deliver and evaluate engaging, evidence-informed and clinically relevant curriculum, including contributions to subject and/or course redevelopment.
  • Demonstrated engagement with the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) and/or clinical research, with a clear trajectory of developing expertise in these areas.
