 About the position
The School of Nursing and Midwifery undertakes a wide range of teaching and research programs in Nursing, Midwifery, Maternal, Family and Child Health, Ageing and Aged Care, Health Service Design, Health and Wellbeing, Time Critical Nursing, Mental Health, and Workforce. These interconnected programs combine to form Centres of Excellence based within our clinical networks and Research Centres.

This is a newly created role for a Level C academic who is an endorsed Nurse Practitioner with expertise in contemporary nursing practice and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. The successful candidate will be expected to make a significant contribution to the quality and innovation of undergraduate and postgraduate education, including leadership in curriculum design, delivery, and evaluation.

The role emphasises engagement in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) to enhance educational practice and student outcomes, alongside meaningful collaboration with local hospital partners to support clinical education and workforce development.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have

  • PhD degree or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the relevant discipline areas.
  • Hold current endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • Current or recent participation in clinical practice as a nurse practitioner.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, curriculum development and subject coordination with a commitment to excellence in teaching, as evidenced by sustained high results on student feedback on teaching surveys, teaching excellence awards or through other forms of evidence.
