About the position

This position supports the University's financial performance by providing timely financial reporting, advising stakeholders, and analysing data. Key responsibilities include preparing management reports, handling journals, general ledger reconciliations, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting for specific departments. The role emphasizes process improvement and developing innovative solutions to enhance service efficiency. Additionally, it involves setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and mentoring student interns to foster their professional growth.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance/Accounting or equivalent with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience. 
  • CA/CPA or currently studying towards.
  • the ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures or systems.
  • demonstrated ability to set priorities and monitor workflows.
  • strong communication, customer service, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems, Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
