 About the position
The appointee will contribute to curriculum development, coordinate subjects, prepare and deliver subjects including teaching, consultation and marking, facilitate links between the school and industry, and undertake scholarly research and dissemination relevant to the development of learning and teaching in Finance.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Develop, coordinate and deliver a high-quality learning experience that engages students through the conduct of workshops, practical classes, demonstrations, simulations, and other experiential learning and engagement activities.
  • Demonstrate a scholarly approach to learning and teaching by contributing to La Trobe’s Scholarship of Learning and Teaching (SoLT) including outputs relating to disciplinary teaching pedagogy and sharing of good practice through conference and seminar presentations.
  • Participate in innovative course level curriculum design, development and review.
  • Demonstrate effectiveness by taking an evidence-based approach to evaluate learning and teaching initiatives.
  • With mentoring support, as appropriate, obtain funding from internal or external sources for teaching improvement projects.
  • Co-supervise postgraduate research students as required.
  • Represent discipline/program or school at external events.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • PhD or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the relevant discipline area.
  • Demonstrated competence in teaching, subject coordination and curriculum development.
  • Evidence of innovative initiatives undertaken in the last three years that have improved student experience, and the evaluation of the effectiveness of these initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching (SoLT).
  • Capability to obtain funding for learning and teaching improvement projects from internal or external grants/contracts/consultancies.
