About the position

You will be responsible for maintaining and updating the IT Asset Management (ITAM) system and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to ensure accurate tracking of all IT assets. This includes processing and monitoring asset requests, such as the distribution, transfer and return of hardware and software.

You will also provide support to university staff and faculty by addressing asset-related inquiries and resolving issues. In collaboration with the Manager, Technology Assets & Lifecycle, you will contribute to enhancing asset management processes and improving data accuracy, with a strong focus on customer service and continuous improvement.

Essential Criteria

Skills and knowledge required for the position

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of IT asset management practices, particularly in maintaining an ITAM tool and CMDB.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in managing and documenting IT assets, ensuring all records are up to date and error-free.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to IT asset management promptly.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of hardware and software lifecycle management, including EOL dates and license renewals.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with various departments to ensure the smooth management of IT assets.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with compliance standards and best practices in IT asset management.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with asset management software tools and databases, particularly those related to CMDB management.
  • Education and Experience: A relevant degree or equivalent experience in IT asset management, with a strong understanding of IT infrastructure.
