We are seeking an exceptional academic leader to join our executive team as Deputy Dean, Strategic Operations. This critical role provides high-level leadership to strengthen the internal structures, systems, and culture that enable the school to perform at scale and with excellence.

Working closely with the Dean, you will play a key role in advancing sustainable staffing models, building inclusive and capable leadership, and enhancing operational effectiveness across all campuses and disciplines. You will also lead delivery of the school’s flagship teaching programs and strategic research priorities, reinforcing its position as a national and global thought leader in teacher education.

You are a strategic and inclusive leader with a deep understanding of academic operations, workforce development, and transformational change in higher education. You bring an entrepreneurial mindset and a commitment to innovation, excellence, and equity in teacher education.

Some of your duties will include: 

  • Lead initiatives to improve academic planning, workload management, and operational consistency across the School.
  • Oversee resource allocation, compliance, and risk management to support strategic goals and ensure quality standards.
  • Advise on recruitment priorities, leadership development, and workforce planning.
  • Champion staff wellbeing, capability building, and inclusive practices across academic and professional roles.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of sector-leading teaching programs and support innovation in curriculum and pedagogy.
  • Support implementation of strategic research initiatives that elevate the School’s profile and impact.

To be considered for this position the successful incumbent will have: 

  • In-depth understanding of local, national, and global higher education trends and opportunities.
  • Sophisticated knowledge of relevant legislation, policy, and practice in higher education and academic partnerships.
  • Proven capacity to lead and develop high-performing academic and professional teams to deliver strategic outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing operational strategies, policies, and systems that support sustainable growth and performance.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire, influence, and collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and capacity to manage multiple strategic initiatives concurrently.
