About us: The Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS) works to create and translate knowledge that enables inclusion, equity, health and wellbeing, particularly as they relate to sex, gender, sexuality and relationships. ARCSHS is home to the largest program of LGBTIQ+ health and wellbeing research and knowledge translation in Australia, with expertise in family, domestic and sexual violence, alcohol and other drug use, and mental health.

Rainbow Health Australia is a program within ARCSHS that supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ+) health and wellbeing through research and knowledge translation, training, resources, policy advice and service accreditation through the Rainbow Tick. Our training draws on research, lived experiences of LGBTIQ+ people and inclusive practice principles to support individuals and organisations to be more LGBTIQ+ inclusive.

About the role: Join Rainbow Health Australia, as our Training Manager. Reporting to the Program Lead, the successful applicant will oversee our suite of evidence-based and engaging trainings, including manage a pool of training staff, review and develop procedures for the development and delivery of training and resources, work with subject-matter experts, external partners and content developers to create and deliver learning content, and identify opportunities to extend the reach of Rainbow Health Australia’s training program.

 

Duties at this level will include:

  • Provide overarching management and development of training offered by Rainbow Health Australia.
  • Monitor, review and develop procedures for the development and delivery of training and resources, including evaluation and quality assurance, in line with Rainbow Health Australia’s training standards guidance.
  • Provide specialist advice on content and strategy relating to training program priorities. 
  • Work with subject-matter experts, external partners and content developers to create online learning content.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to extend the reach of Rainbow Health Australia’s training, including development of new training modules and adaptations of existing training.

 

Essential Criteria

Skills and knowledge required for the position

  • A degree with substantial extension of the theories and principles learned through experience; or a range of management experience; or postgraduate qualifications; or progress towards postgraduate qualifications with extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training, and/or experience.
  • Experience in the development and delivery of training and resources, including evaluation and quality assurance.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a portfolio of multiple training courses and a panel of training staff, to successfully plan and deliver training for a range of sectors
  • Experience in the development of online learning, including collaboration with subject-matter experts, external partners and content developers to create online learning content.
