About the position
This position falls within the Facilities and Technical Services (FTS) team in Science, primarily supporting the Anatomy and Physiology teaching laboratories for the School of Agriculture, Biomedicine and Environment (SABE). The role has responsibilities for delivering a range of technical services and advice to ensure the effective delivery and maintenance of the capability and operation of these teaching laboratories, working closely with the laboratory teaching team, especially during scheduled class times.
This role works closely with a number of stakeholders including the teaching academics, Infrastructure and Operations, the Health Safety and Environment and Information Services teams supporting the area.
Routine tasks include:
- Operation,
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment (e.g. manikins)
- Training support
- Set-up and pack-down of classes
- Management of consumables.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have:
- Demonstrated capacity to organise work effectively and efficiently and deliver outputs in a timely manner.
- Familiarity with a wide range of scientific equipment and laboratory infrastructure, its use, maintenance and management.
- Sound understanding of Health & Safety regulations and procedures.
- Experience with working to teaching timeble delivery, minor project timelines and general milestones.
- Skilled in the setup, delivery and operation of anatomy teaching classes having responsibility for the day-to-day operation of a small and discrete work unit, including allocating and prioritising work (i.e. resource management), meeting service standards and assisting with the monitoring or review of systems.
- It is an essential requirement to support classes as timetabled; flexibility is required for this role as some classes start at 8am and some finish at 6pm.
