The Opportunity:
We’re seeking a motivated and experienced Development Manager to drive philanthropic engagement in support of the ONJCRI’s (Olivia Newton John Cancer Research Institute) research priorities. As part of La Trobe University’s central Advancement Office, you’ll manage a portfolio of major donors and lead strategies that align passion with purpose to secure gifts of $25,000 and above.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement major gift strategies to secure philanthropic support for ONJCRI
- Manage and grow a portfolio of donors, guiding them through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
- Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, including with researchers, university leadership and partners
- Contribute to strategic planning and represent La Trobe with professionalism and purpose
About You:
You are a relationship-driven fundraising professional who thrives on making meaningful connections. You have:
- A proven track record in securing major gifts ($25K–$1M+)
- Experience working in medical research, higher education or healthcare philanthropy
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage senior leaders, researchers, and donors
- Strategic thinking, innovation, and a passion for cause-driven fundraising
