About the position
 
The Scholarships team is tasked with delivering and managing the administrative functions that support the University’s coursework scholarships and bursaries. This includes overseeing the full process—from online presence and application through to offers, post-award administration, and student support.
 
Reporting to the Scholarships Manager, the Senior Coordinator, Scholarships, is responsible for ensuring the effective and streamlined delivery of scholarship and bursary programs. The role works collaboratively with colleagues and teams across the University to promote a consistent and high-quality service experience, while ensuring uniform application of administrative processes and procedures. Key responsibilities also include oversight of reporting, quality assurance, ongoing process improvements, and fostering a culture of collaboration and shared knowledge.
 
This position may also have responsibility for managing government-funded scholarships or bursaries, which includes promoting awareness, overseeing administration, tracking program activity, and reporting outcomes. The Senior Coordinator will lead the daily operations of the Senior Officers, Scholarships, act as a key liaison with both internal and external stakeholders and provide strategic support to the Scholarships Manager—offering analysis, insights, and advice across all areas of scholarship administration.
 
 
Essential Criteria
Skills and knowledge required for the position
 
• An undergraduate degree in any area relevant to the position with at least 4 years subsequent experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, especially the capacity to work collaboratively and cooperatively and lead small teams.
• Demonstrated organisation and problem-solving skills, with an ability to manage several different projects concurrently.
• Demonstrated skills in research, evaluation or interpretation of data.
• Demonstrated high level of self-motivation and personal management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to form a detailed knowledge of academic and administrative policies and the interrelationships between a range of policies and activities.
