A central plank of the strategy is the establishment of a Health Professions Clinical Education Unit (HPCEU). Based in the Office of the Provost, and in partnership with the School of Nursing and Midwifery, School of Allied Health, Human Services and Sport, La Trobe Rural Health School, School of Psychology and Public Health, and Office of the PVC Industry Engagement, the HPCEU will provide:

2. Engagement and Capability Building with Health and Community Partners
3. Leadership and Innovation in Pre-Clinical Simulation Education, Clinical Education, Interprofessional Education, and associated research
4. Acting as an effective advocate connecting research-focused ARCH (Academic and Research Collaborative in Health) activities within the predominantly education-focused activities of the HPCEU
The Academic Lead/Advisor, Workforce Development will support activities in the HPCEU with a particular focus on development of educators supporting student clinical learning. The incumbent will lead development, delivery and monitoring of the new Professional Certificate in Clinical Education, for offering to clinical partners in the first instance, to enhance clinical teaching quality and student clinical learning.
The role will work with a variety of discipline specific academics to develop the Certificate and will also support development of other micro credentials and short courses of relevance to clinical education, along with participating in related scholarship activities in facilitating quality pre-clinical and clinical learning and teaching.
