We are reducing the overall use of academic casual employment and providing meaningful pathways for casual academic staff to ongoing academic employment through our casual consolidation project.

To be eligible, you must (a) Have casual experience totalling at least two (2) teaching sessions at La Trobe University in the previous two (2) years; (b) Have not held a continuing position in a university in the previous three (3) years.

Shape the future of physiotherapy education at La Trobe University. We’re seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Lecturer in Physiotherapy (Teaching Focused) to join our collaborative and industry-connected School of Allied Health, Human Services and Sport.

About the Role:

As a Lecturer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate coursework, driving curriculum innovation, and contributing to La Trobe’s reputation for excellence in health education. You’ll have the opportunity to influence the next generation of physiotherapists while engaging in scholarly teaching practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and deliver engaging subjects across face-to-face, blended, and online formats.
  • Design curriculum and implement evidence-based improvements to enhance student experience.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support student learning outcomes.
  • Lead teaching improvement initiatives and contribute to professional learning in the discipline.
  • Build local partnerships and support knowledge exchange.

Skills & Experience:

  • Registration with AHPRA as a Physiotherapist.
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence with experience in curriculum development and subject coordination.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with a commitment to inclusive education.
  • Capacity to influence teaching practice and contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning.
