Are you an experienced fundraising professional with a passion for driving meaningful impact through philanthropy? La Trobe University invites you to join our Advancement team as an Associate Director, Development.

This pivotal leadership role is central to the success of La Trobe’s Make Your Impact Campaign, aimed at fostering transformative change through community engagement and philanthropy. If you thrive on strategic thinking, relationship-building, and empowering high-performing teams, this could be your next career move.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage a front-line fundraising team of eight, guiding initiatives that align with La Trobe’s strategic vision.
  • Oversee a portfolio of 50-70 major and principal gift donors, focusing on transformative philanthropic partnerships.
  • Collaborate closely with senior University leaders and the broader Advancement team to drive campaign success.
  • Provide leadership in cultivating a supportive and innovative team culture.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven success in major gift fundraising at the $500,000+ level.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing performance and development in teams.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, negotiation, and communication abilities.
  • Deep understanding of fundraising principles and advancement program management in complex organizations.
  • A postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in fundraising or a related field.
