We are reducing the overall use of academic casual employment and providing meaningful pathways for casual academic staff to ongoing academic employment through our casual consolidation project.

To be eligible, you must (a) Have casual experience totalling at least two (2) teaching sessions at La Trobe University in the previous two (2) years; (b) Have not held a continuing position in a university in the previous three (3) years.

We’re seeking an engaging and collaborative academic to contribute to high-quality teaching, curriculum development, and student support across our accredited undergraduate and postgraduate Speech Pathology programs.

Your impact

As a Lecturer (Level B – Teaching Focused), you will:

  • Deliver innovative and engaging lectures, tutorials and practical sessions
  • Develop and coordinate subjects to enhance student learning outcomes
  • Contribute to course design, teaching innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support student placements and act as a mentor to junior colleagues
  • Engage with the profession and wider community to strengthen educational relevance and impact

What we’re looking for

You will bring:

  • Proven effectiveness in teaching, curriculum design and subject coordination
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • A collaborative and inclusive mindset, with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • A current (or willingness to obtain) Victorian Working With Children Check
